Reception Transition Process – ‘Come & Play’
If your child is starting at Unley Primary School they will have the opportunity to ‘Come & Play’ in our Early Years learning areas in Term 4 of the year prior. These sessions provide time for families and children to familiarise themselves with staff, peers and our learning environment. The Transition Program also provides teachers with the opportunity to talk with pre-school staff and families about children’s specific needs and ongoing development.
High School Transition Process
The process for Year 6 students transitioning to high school generally begins in Term 2 of their final year at Unley Primary School. Students receive a package of information from the Department for Education and are able to lodge applications to attend other public or private high schools. There are also opportunities to apply for special-entry programs and scholarships to different public high schools in the Adelaide area. More information about this process is available from the relevant high schools, or by speaking with the Year 6 teachers at Unley Primary School.
